Keep to the 2% cap on tax increases

I am determined to reduce spending levels and I support a 2% property tax cap. For too long, government spending has been unchecked and not rigorously questioned. We need effective government, but we also need a government that is responsible and is not managed by those in a financial fantasy land. I will hold the line on spending and try to reduce the county’s tax burden.

Build ratables

As we pull ourselves out of this prolonged downturn, we must work to redevelop underutilized commercial properties and work to complete projects that have been on the back burner. We must increase our tax base to slow the increase or overall taxes.

Establish relationships with contiguous towns

Establish relationships with contiguous towns to share services and capital equipment. We must spread costs over a larger area where appropriate.
